That’s what we read every day. Our black males are not graduating high school; They are not going to college; They are not committed fathers; They are not productive citizens in our society; Does this assessment fit you? I didn’t think so! Regrettably the media and our society frequently focus on the negative in our community, especially when it comes to African American males. No one focuses on the responsible fathers in our community; No one sees what our black professional men do at work, in the education and social arenas. No one takes notice of the hardworking electricians, carpenters, bricklayers, truck and bus drivers who after a long day of work go to their other jobs as fathers, coaches, community leaders. This has to change!!!

Unfortunately, there are many young black males in our community in need of strong mature support and guidance. There are too many young black males not reading on grade level. There are too many young black males in their lives. There are too many young black males without a clue as to the educational and acareer opportunities that are available to them. There are too many black young males that don't know how to control their emotions, lacking discipline and motivation. So the question is, whose RESPONSIBILITY IS IT TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEMS FACING THESE BLACK MALES? YOU GUESSED RIGHT, IT IS OURS!
The Office of Minority Male Health at Lincoln University is offering you the opportunity to further demonstrate your commitment concern, experience, and resolve to help the young men in our community. In cooperation with the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, the Office of Minority Male HeaLth is initiating a new program entitled "Bridging The Generations: Boys to Men." The purpose of this initiative is to identify, train and implement African American males to work with the young males in our community. Our young men are in serious need of your talents. You are invited to join us in making a difference to those who need you the most. There is a saying that "if you are not part the solution you are part of the problem...WHERE DO YOU STAND?
